This utsava happens for a period of seven days.It starts exactly 5 days prior to Makara Sankranti .On first five days ,Krishna and Mukhyaprana idols are placed in small(mahapooja ratha) and medium sized chariots(Garuda ratha).On the day of Makara Sankramana,,Utsava moorthi of Krishna is placed in brahma ratha .Ananteshvara and mukhyaprana idols are placed in Garudaratha and mahapooja ratha respectively.It will be a feast to the eyes to see this three-chariot procession in the Carstreet of Krishnamatha.On seventh day,After Mahapooja,day-time-chariot procession happens.
